About

Hello World! I am Yeti Jason!

I’m a new content creator (since 2025) that was born and raised on a bayou in the swamps of Northwest Florida and is the founder of Cook Like A Yeti.

I woke up March 2021 in the hospital, the right side of my body paralyzed, 12 different pill bottles, 4 different doctor appointments for each month going forward, and a doctor saying that I had a Traumatic Brain Injury caused by a defect in my heart. I needed to make some serious changes in my diet and my life.

This online cookbook is a public contribution to my personal health journey. Every recipe starts from a vintage cookbook and is updated for today’s palate with healthier ingredients, refined techniques, and written so that someone with no cooking experience can make a restaurant quality meal that is healthy for their families to enjoy.

My goal is to create a collection of easy-to-follow, healthy recipes with a restaurant quality flavor profile for all to enjoy. For free, forever.

A little bit more about me

My family’s southern roots are buried deep throughout Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia. I learned how to cook mainly from both my grandparents, and it should be no surprise that my dad also cooks really well too. While they didn’t teach me specific recipes that I can remember, I do remember all the skills and techniques, that a sharp knife saves fingers, and to make sure the cast iron is oiled before it is put away.

I grew up in a coastal community where both fresh and saltwater seafood was the way of life. I learned at an early age how to catch and clean fish, gig flounders at night, dive for bay scallops, throw a cast net, and set up a whole camp. I was a very outdoorsy teenager, still even to this day.

When I turned twelve, I got a dirt bike. It didn’t run so I had to learn how to fix it myself – that was the deal. Every day I wasn’t in school, from nine in the morning until sunset, I would explore the woods at nine thousand rpms ripping and jumping through the sand, mud and little streams in my neck of the woods.  These days, those woods are developed neighborhoods, commercial strip malls, or nature preserves, but every time I go near woods and nature, it just calls to me just like it did in my youth.

Content Creation

I was introduced to live streaming in 2021 through Facebook Gaming. On my road to recovery, I watched those creators playing GTA RP, and it became a staple in my free time. Something about it just resonated with my Aspergers, and when FB Gaming shut down, I followed some creators to Kick, where I discovered IRL streaming. Within hours, my mind was exploding with ideas to tell my story, and publishing this online cookbook would be a cornerstone of that journey.

My endgame is to build a competitive brand and a supportive community around food-based content and be a good ambassador to my hometown and the South. You can currently find me on YouTube, X, and Instagram. In the near future, I will be live on Kick, so please follow and subscribe!

If you are a content creator interested in collaborating, or a brand that wants to sponsor my content, please reach out to me directly on X or Instagram.
